Jennifer Granholm has been touted as one of Current TV Network’s rising stars, but after the announcement that the cable network was sold to Arab-owned Al-Jazeera, she has announced she’s quitting her TV show.
Granholm, a former Democrat Governor of Michigan, announced on her Facebook page that she is not going to pursue another contract with the little seen cable network most famous for having been started by a cabal fronted by former Vice President Al Gore.
Granholm gave an explanation of sorts saying,
We were told today that Al Jazeera is the buyer for Current TV. My agreement with Current was for the duration of the election (and the sale). It has been a very fun adventure; we are blessed with a wonderful team. We’ll continue to broadcast The War Room for the next few weeks through the transition, but after that I’ll be going back to teaching, speaking and other things. Thanks to all of you who have been watching, and especially thanks to those who helped achieve a key goal: helping to re-elect the president!
Granholm didn’t specifically say she was ditching her show because the anti-American network bought Current TV, but by linking the purchase to her decision the way she did, reading between the lines isn’t that difficult, to be sure.
Gore’s cable network has struggled to gain viewers and since Al-Jazeera bought the network TIME-Warner has already announced it will cease carrying Current TV assuring that ratings will fall even further.
