moRon Paul Says We Shouldn’t Have Killed Osama bin Ladden!

-By Warner Todd Huston

Ron Paul, the GOP’s cranky old uncle, has been spouting his isolationist, appeaser-styled foreign policy ideas for decades but with this bin Ladden business he has again gone too far. Now Ron Paul says we should never have killed Osama bin Ladden.

Ron Paul says he would not have authorized the mission that led to the death of Osama bin Laden, and that President Barack Obama should have worked with the Pakistani government instead of authorizing a raid.

As to if he would have given the go-ahead to kill OBL, Paul said:

“I don’t think it was necessary, no. It absolutely was not necessary,” Paul said during his Tuesday comments. “I think respect for the rule of law and world law and international law. What if he’d been in a hotel in London? We wanted to keep it secret, so would we have sent the airplane, you know the helicopters into London, because they were afraid the information would get out?”

So, moRon Paul would go to our avowed enemies and ask them if pretty, pretty please will they help us capture the guy they love and have been hiding from us for more than a decade.

Geithner’s Spin: Auto Bailout A Success

-By Warner Todd Huston

At the Detroit Economic Club today, Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner tried to claim the auto bailout is a success.

It certainly doesn’t seem like a success for the taxpayers. GM stock is about $30 today, and unless it gets up to $54, the taxpayers lose money on the deal. Why would it go up? You want to fight high gas prices by buying a Volt? How does $41 grand a pop sound? And still GM loses money on every one it sells even at that price. Not only that but we are seeing that government subsides for electric cars is good tax money wasted in any case.

Why Donald Trump Can’t Win a GOP Primary

-By Warner Todd Huston

“Nancy — you’re The Best.” Those four words are indicative of Trump’s biggest stumbling block for winning a GOP primary: his past coziness with various Democrats.

The “Nancy” referenced above is, of course, none other than that ever lovin’ Cruella DeVilleish, former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi. Trumps sent her this little love note in January of 2007.

It isn’t just this one note that will doom Trump’s chances of ever winning a GOP primary, though. It is this coupled with the many thousands of dollars that he has donated to Democrat politicians for their political campaign funds….

VIDEO: Donald Trump Was Huuuuge at CPAC 2011

-By Warner Todd Huston

Donald Trump appeared at CPAC 2011 for its opening day and told the crowd in his inimitably no-nonsense style why he would be a better president than Barack Obama… or any of the current crop of GOP candidates. He said he is not yet announcing, but he is seriously considering it.

The Ron Paulites seemed to disagree, however, that Trump would be better than any other possible candidate for president. And Trump’s reply: “You know Ron Paul can’t win, right?” This sent the Paulites in paroxysms of pain, hooting and hollering to beat the band.

Publius Interview: Herman Cain… for President?

Where ever Herman Cain goes he meets enthusiastic crowds. There is a reason for that: He is an incredibly dynamic man. He has a compelling life story and boy can he whip up a crowd! Every time I’ve seen him he has the folks on their feet in wild applause.

The Interview With Herman Cain, Part One

Part Two

Part Three

His resume is quite impressive, of course. After all, he was the man that was assigned stewardship of the troubled Godfather Pizza chain when he worked for Pillsbury Foods and turned it around into a money-maker when no one expected him to be able to do so. It became so successful that he was able to buy the chain and run it himself.

Presidential Character

This essay by Mark Alexander of The Patriot Post is an important resource upon the subject of presidential character and how John McCain and Barack Obama measure up in that respect. It is full of great insight and important links to the candidate’s respective records. Please be sure and have your friends who may be on the fence read this essay. It may help convince them of which way to go.

Presidential Character, By Mark Alexander

“The public cannot be too curious concerning the characters of public men.” —Samuel Adams

In his Inaugural Address on 20 January, 1961, President John F. Kennedy closed his remarks with these famous words: “And so, my fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country.”

With those words, JFK, considered by many to be the most exemplary leader of the Democrat Party in the 20th Century, asked Americans to put country first, a bedrock principle of the Party until the last few decades.

However today, the current slate of Democrats have turned Jack Kennedy’s national challenge on end, essentially proclaiming, “ask what your country can do for you, not what you can do for your country.”

In 1963, Martin Luther King stood on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial and said for all to hear, “I have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.”

Has his dream been realized, or have Democrat leaders divided us up into constituency groups, where we are judged by all manner of ethnicity and special interests rather than the individual and national character King envisioned?

Kennedy and King had it right, but the Democrat Party has squandered their great legacy, and betrayed us, moreover enslaving many Americans as dependant wards of the state.
