At a ceremony to appoint Texas lawyer Shaaril Zafar as the State Department’s “special representative to Muslim communities,” Secretary of State John Kerry claimed that the Bible commands us to help “Muslim-majority” countries to protect themselves from global warming. So, where are the media to whine that Kerry is trying to set up a “theocracy”?
“Our faiths are inextricably linked on any number of things that we must confront and deal with in policy concepts today. Our faiths are inextricably linked on the environment. For many of us, respect for God’s creation also translates into a duty to protect and sustain his first creation, Earth, the planet,” Kerry blurted out.
“Confronting climate change is, in the long run, one of the greatest challenges that we face, and you can see this duty or responsibility laid out in Scriptures clearly, beginning in Genesis. And Muslim-majority countries are among the most vulnerable. Our response to this challenge ought to be rooted in a sense of stewardship of Earth, and for me and for many of us here today, that responsibility comes from God,” he asserted.
See the video of this nonsense HERE.
So, the Bible commands us to spend our own money and effort to protect other nations from global warming, now? Especially nations filled with people who want us dead or forcibly converted to their backwards, 7th Century beliefs?
Now, you most likely did not see this on any Old Media outlet like ABC, CBS, CNN and the like. But you would have seen it everywhere if a Republican had said this. Imagine if a Republican had said that the Bible commanded us to spend our money on Muslim countries for anything?
The uproar about how racist this is against Muslims would have been so loud that nothing else would be heard for weeks. Not to mention the fact that it would be claimed that the Republicans want to create a “theocracy” in Washington.
But when a Democrat Sec. of State says this? Silence. Nothing. Crickets.
Why is this? Why are the media ignoring this line of lunacy from Kerry? Because there isn’t a person alive who believes a Democrat when he says anything religious. EVERYONE automatically assumes that any Democrat who says something religious is just a liar or pandering for some reason. No Democrat is religious. Democrats hate religion, especially Christianity. This is all is taken for granted.
So, everyone knows that Kerry is a liar when he says idiotic stuff like this and his blather is ignored.
But it does neatly show the hypocrisy in the Old Media establishment. If a Republican had done this the media would for weeks be talking about this story as an example of evil, racist, Christian arrogance among the GOP and conservatives. But Kerry said it, so… nothing.
Lastly, why, exactly, do we need a “special representative to Muslim communities”? And how much money is this costing the US? And why are we giving some left-wing lawyer some comfy, unnecessary government job?
