The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that up to 65,000 ballots were sent from Ohio to voters in other states that are still registered in Ohio despite living elsewhere. But, there is no system to cross-check these out-of-state voters to see if they are registered and/or have voted in other states.
As the Plain Dealer notes, Ben Piscitelli, a spokesman for the Franklin County Board of Elections said, “We don’t check out-of-state absentee voters to determine if they’ve voted outside Ohio.”
This could have an effect on the out come in Ohio.
A Plain Dealer analysis of absentee voter rolls from Cuyahoga, Franklin and Summit counties found that about 18,200 voters — about 0.8 percent of the registered voters in those counties — asked for absentee ballots to be sent to them at addresses in other states. If that trend holds true throughout Ohio, nearly 65,000 votes could be delivered from other states to Ohio, where fewer than 120,000 votes decided the 2004 presidential election.
This is just one more example of how easy fraud can be in this election.
