Freeloading Euro Backpacker Upset People Think He’s a Freeloading Euro Backpacker

-By Warner Todd Huston

Much of what we do here is serious commentary on the leftist bias in this world, issues that are consequential to the debate between right and left. But, today we can sit back and have a little lighthearted fun with our lefty friends without all that worry and seriousness hovering over us like a cloud of leftist generated noxious gas. So… do ya wanna hear something funny?

The Telegraph brings us the heart wrenching tale of one Mr. Mark Boyle, the man who thought he was going to backpack on foot from Bristol, England to Mahatma Gandhi’s birthplace in Porbander, India. Unfortunately, Mr. Boyle was crestfallen to have to quit this noble effort early. And we are all the poorer for it.

Speaking of poorer…

Mr. Boyle, who is a member of the Freeconomy Movement, wanted to do this important trek all to bring the world “peace.” So selfless, ain’t he? Yes, Boyle was courageously trying to bring the whole wide world’s attention to his quest so that all men everywhere could be consoled that one man, one lone but resolute fellow, could have the chips to launch such a heroic effort, one that would bring the world to its feet in solidarity and awe. Who could want to fight after that, eh?

Being a good member of that aforementioned society of high thinkers and humanitarians, he thought he was going to do it without a penny in his pocket, too. See, the Freeconomy Movement imagines that everything can be free, that money is unnecessary. In fact, they want to completely do away with money.

So, off he went one bright and sunny British morn to begin this legendary journey about which, one day, movies would surely be made, books written, cults begun even. And perhaps Mr. Boyle might be at long last able to impress the birds down at the pub, too? The world held its breath and excitement arose with Boyle’s every step as he started his epic, storybook effort.

This ’Artist ’ is a Jerk

-By Warner Todd Huston

We talk of liberalism in the news media every day here on Publius’ Forum, of course. But the leftist lack of standards and morals that we decry in the news media is reflected in much of our entertainment and art, as well. We’ve discussed leftism in music and in the movies many times, but here is another story where the degradation of western culture is plainly visible. Now we can add a new outrage to the world of “art” with the exhibit of Spent by “performance, installation” artist Jordan McKenzie that features the artist’s ejaculation patterns on paper, sprinkled with colored powder to make the stream visible, then framing bunches of them on a wall.

Please excuse the language here, but here is the Sun’s report

AN ARTIST has created a new exhibition of drawings by masturbating over paper.

Um, yeah. Hooray for “art.”

A Liberal’s Hates Mail, A Perfect Example of Leftist Hypocrisy

Michelle Malkin had a great post on Jan. 9th. It is one of those head slappers that fully explains why leftists are liars, creeps, and shows how violent they are even as they claim to be the “smarter,” more “civilized,” of the question.

Hilarious hate mail of the day
By Michelle Malkin

It’s been a while since I printed hate mail. You’ve seen one “Hey, BusHitler’s Asian whore, go home” letter, you’ve seen ‘em all. But this one’s such a prize-winner, I had to share:

from Joe Roppe

subject Crying Hillary

Michelle Malkin,

I bet we could make your cry for real. Force you to eat a hamburger.

I often wonder what will happen when we progressive liberal adults take back our country.

The adults will stop wars for oil,
Everyone will have health care.
Everyone will have a roof over their heads.
Everyone will have a voice in our government.
Everyone will pay equal taxes.

The Republican Party will be a quaint memory to tell our children about.

The best part is someday you will die of anorexia or choke to death on your own purging. That’s my dream.

Thank you,
Joe Roppe
Stevens Point, WI

For those who know me, the trouble isn’t getting me to start eating hamburgers. The trouble is getting me to stop. ;)

So, here’s the truly funny part. Joe Roppe of Stevens Point, WI is also the author of a letter published in the Stevens Point, WI Journal on December 31, 2007 decrying “cyberbullying” and lecturing about the need for “fostering an adult discussion” without personal attacks:

Cyberbullying is a tactic some people use to anonymously attack those they disagree with using the Internet through email or on message boards. It can include threats on a person’s life, sexual remarks, pejorative labels such as hate speech all of which are intended to harm others.

Since the Internet gives people a semblance of anonymity, they can act more aggressively than they would face-to-face. You should not reply to threatening emails or negative postings on a website. Even if you do, this is not justification for an unstable person to fly into a rage and step over the line.

Some of the posts on the Stevens Point Journal message board are patently offensive and come dangerously close to crossing the fine line between expressing their freedom of speech and committing libel. I can assure you that the posts following the publication of this letter will be designed to attack me personally instead of fostering an adult discussion of the very real issue of cyberbullying. Once you read the posts, the very nature of the nasty remarks will illustrate my point.

According to the National Cyber Alert System, you can protect yourself from cyberbullies. Be careful where you post personal information; avoid escalating a situation, document offensive remarks, and report harassing or threatening posts to the proper authorities. The Stevens Point Police Department and the FBI are good places to start.

A recent article in the SPJ demonstrates how cyberbullying can be taken to the extreme. Allegedly, a local resident is reported to have stepped over the line when a webpage on MySpace was used to request someone to shoot Mayor Andrew Halverson, and the home address of Portage County Social Worker, Danita Docka was posted including requests to kill or injure her and her child. This behavior exemplifies the need to stop cyberbullying. We can do this with laws we already have on the books.

Yeah, see, the proper way to engage in hate speech and wish for their deaths is to sign your name like Joe Roppe did.

Sweet dreams, Joe Roppe.

Now THIS is a perfect example of the liars that are the left.
