An Update on Dold’s 10th District race from his campaign:
Wins New Trier Republican Organization Endorsement
Winnetka, IL- Robert Dold, Republican Candidate for Illinois’ 10th Congressional District, is proud to announce his endorsement by the New Trier Republican Organization. Having also recently won the endorsement of the Elk Grove Township Republican Organization, Dold has received the first two grassroots endorsements in the district. Dold continues building momentum in his campaign to replace Congressman Mark Kirk who is running for the U.S. Senate.
“I am thrilled to receive the endorsement of the NTRO”, said Dold who received more votes than all of the other six candidates combined. “The NTRO endorsement was instrumental in Mark Kirk’s successful 2000 campaign and I am honored by the support of this important organization.”
Two other key Republican township organizations in the 10th Congressional District, Northfield and Wheeling, held endorsement sessions Saturday. Neither voted to endorse as none of the candidates received the necessary 60% of the vote required.
Dold pulled 51% of the total vote from the three townships combined. The next largest recipient was 30 points behind, garnering only 20% total.
“I am thrilled by the strong outpouring of support we received in Northfield Township” said Dold. “The voters here clearly recognize the need to move beyond Springfield politics and want to send an independent voice to Washington to represent our District.” Dold continued, “I am humbled by the large number of voters who support us in Wheeling Township as well. Our message of cutting government spending, creating jobs, and lowering taxes is resonating with voters across the district.”
“I am honored to have earned the trust and support of the Republican precinct captains and party leaders across the 10th Congressional District,” said Dold. “As a fiscal conservative I will work to make the federal government accountable by cutting wasteful spending, balancing the federal budget and reducing the national debt. When elected, I promise to stand against out of control spending in Washington and say enough is enough.”
