Chicago’s WBEZ Radio has a nice blog set up. Naturally there aren’t any conservatives there. Take Cate Cahan’s recent report on Mayor Richard “King” Daley’s appearance at the 16th Annual Chicago Neighborhood Development Awards, for instance. She so missed the point, she so badly spun it in the wrong direction, that it is a laughable attempt to salvage something positive for the left-wing out of Mayor Daley’s mocking of the anti-war movement from the podium.
In his own inimitably garbled grammar, from the podium, Daley passionately delivered the following mocking of the anti-war movement:
“Where are the anti-war people? Where are they? They disappeared! What happened? I thought war was evil? Where are the people that believed in their heart against George Bush? [mockingly] ‘We’ve have to organize and walk down Michigan Avenue and Clark Street!’ What happened? I thought they believed in their heart? Oh, we won the election. Now we go home. What happened to America?”
(Hear the audio at the WBEZ page.)
It is glaringly obvious that Mayor Daley is calling these antiwar protesters hypocrites. They’ve won the election with Obama in office, da Mayor is saying, so now they’ve gone home ignoring the fact that Obama has continued “Bush’s” several wars.
Daley is right to wonder where the protesters are these days. They claimed to “believe in their hearts” that war and Bush is evil. OK, they got rid of Bush. But is war now cool because their own socialist leader is in the White House? Doesn’t this prove that anti-war protesters are all hypocrites? War hasn’t changed just because the orders are coming out of a black man’s mouth…. has it?
Yet, for WBEZ Cate Cahan doesn’t get this at all from Daley’s mocking. No instead of seeing Daley mocking the anti-war hypocrites, Cahan sees Daley as the hypocrite. He’s the hypocrite, you see, because he hasn’t always been “welcoming” to the anti-war nuts, wackos, anarchists, anti-Americans, criminals and violence prone halfwits that people these protests. Why does she say that? Because he made them walk down the wrong street once.
Besides that, why does she focus on Daley? Because she’s one of those anti-war wackos herself as she admits in her post. So, to see Daley’s words in the light of reality, to properly understand Daley as calling the anti-war freaks a bunch of hypocrites, she’d have to be confronted with Daley’s chief question: where have they been since Obama got elected?
You see, Miss Cahan just cannot face her own hypocrisy and that of her anti-war nutball friends. It’s just too personal for her. So, let’s ignore the anti-war folk’s hypocrisy, shall we, Miss Cahan? Let’s focus on something, anything else. Who needs introspection, anyway? It’s so overrated!
And don’t get me started on the leeches at this dinner. What we have here are a bunch of so-called non-profits that make their living off of stealing money from the government for faux projects that never really benefit anyone. These are your ACORN criminals, SEIU type thugs, and your general “community organizers” that bleed our system dry to fill their pockets of professional agitators for useless programs that aid no one. These are the kind of teats-on-a-bull organizations that got Obama’s purported stimulus money, the money that went to stimulate only government.
