We are told that a politician’s religion is private and is of no concern to anyone. In fact, it is supposed to be bigoted to inquire what a candidate believes; however, that is dangerous non-thinking. Since religion is an extremely personal thing making up the character and principles of a person, it is insane not to consider a candidate’s religion.
Harry Truman was a Baptist, but not a very good one; however, what he learned from church and the Bible sure affected millions of people on earth, especially Israel. When Israel declared itself a nation on May 14, 1948, Truman recognized the new state without going through his advisors. He did it knowing most of his close advisors and both the State and War Departments were against the recognition.
The politicians were fearful that Muslim states would cut off our access to oil and the possibility of a Soviet/Arab alliance. May 15, the Arab states issued their statements of opposition and immediately invaded the new nation–and got their tails whipped. (Muslims are slow learners and got their tails whipped repeatedly over the following years.) That first Israeli/Arab war is known as the War of Independence.
Against massive opposition Truman went out on a limb and did what he had always been taught–the Jews deserved their own homeland. He wrote, “I think the proper thing to do, and the thing I have been doing, is to do what I think is right and let them all go to hell.” He did and they did.
Harry was familiar with the Bible teaching that the Jews would return to their own land. Considering that fact, how can anyone disagree that a candidate’s religion might affect his decisions?
Is it irresponsible for reporters not to inquire into a candidate’s Mennonite’s religion since Mennonites are known for taking a stand against war? That belief could impact millions of people and the safety and future of America.
A Hassidic Jewish candidate for President should be asked: “Since your religion forbids you to work or drive on the Sabbath, what would you do in event of a major domestic or foreign conflict when a quick response was essential?
It is unthinkable that a member of a Christian Identity Church, known for white supremacy views, would not be questioned about the church’s stand on Blacks and other minorities.
A member of Jim Jones’ cult would have to face questions about sexual abuse of women and children and the socialism (that turned out to be Communism). It would be irresponsible not to inquire into what a candidate believed if he were a member of the Jones’ cult.
That brings me to Mitt Romney and his Mormon religion. American’s are fools not to question him to see if his religious beliefs might be detrimental to America. Mormons believe that any human can become a god, and teach that Adam was actually God who took on a body and this Adam-God (Michael the Archangel) had a physical sexual relationship with the Virgin Mary producing the baby Jesus (Journal of Discourses, Vol. 4, p. 218, 1857). Another bizarre doctrine of the Mormons is that Satan and Jesus are brothers. Additionally, all Mormons will have their own planets to populate with their numerous wives! While those are considered weird beliefs, they would cause no physical harm to our nation.
However, some other Mormon doctrines demand some answers:
Mr. Romney do you believe that one day you will be a god and if so, could that not be a dangerous concept to hold as leader of the Free World? After all, a supreme being cannot make mistakes and is not answerable to any person or nation. (It seems we may already have a vacationer-in-chief with that attitude!)
Do you believe that Kolob is an actual planet (star) where a day lasts 1000 years? Do you believe that God created many worlds that are inhabited? That could easily affect your attitude toward U.S. space exploration.
The First President of the Mormons is said to speak for God so would you be willing to refuse one of his commands that could impact our nation negatively?
No one doubts that the media would be all over a candidate who was a member of the Unification Church, Scientology, and other religious groups that have not been mainlined. Mormons have many commendable attributes including a healthy lifestyle, sincerity, family commitment, and dedication to what they believe. In recent years they have been accepted as “Christians” by many evangelicals.
Moreover, it is none of the media’s business what a candidate believes no matter how weird and bizarre the beliefs may be–unless those bizarre beliefs might impact the nation. That’s why penetrating questions must be asked of every candidate who wants to be America’s chief executive. It’s obvious that reporters miserably failed by not questioning Obama. They didn’t want to put him on the spot and now our nation is on the spot.
However, no reporter will ask Romney those questions because most reporters are without a spine.

The common law of the land based on precedent is the most beautiful justice system anyone could imaging, because it renews itself at any precedent opportunity, this is the most important rule for institutions (or threshold agreements)to thrive trough time, the chance and obligation to renew itself, yet, a greater step still unsurpassed by political status. And of course, the possible president of, yet today, the greatest nation, must be asked all and every question.
Gideon vs Wainwright. In 1963 Gideon accessed the supreme court from prison in Florida (this, in itself, is the greatest), it led him to be absolved, the court delivered twofold, the increased cost of the state now providing free attorneys to accused people and those sentenced without a right defense that will suddenly be free all over the nation. This ought to be one of the greatest histories of freedom ever and worldwide.
