A photo has been making the rounds of gay-left-twitter this week that is being praised as perfectly encapsulating “what liberals want” and I agree 100% with that claim, though it doesn’t prove the same point the liberals think it proves.
The photo was taken of two riders on a New York subway car, one a drag queen in full glam and the other a Muslim woman hidden behind a full niqab, only her eyes seen behind the slit in her head covering. The caption of the Tweet reads, “This is the future that liberals want.”
The left has glommed onto this photo as a wonderful celebration of “diversity.”
Mediaite identified the drag queen as one Gillda Wabbit.
Wabbit said he is trying to “ignore” the negative comments the photo has gotten, but is thrilled with the positive ones as the left takes ownership of the photo as an beau ideal. “The positive comments have been thrilling though! I’m reminded that the country was utterly divided during this election and there is so much hope for the future still left in our county,” Wabbit said.
Wabbit went on saying:
I won’t speak for all liberals, but I’d like to see a future where it isn’t a big deal for a woman in full modesty garb to sit next to a drag queen in NYC. It’s become a bit of a sensation, but her and I were just existing. The freedom to simply be yourself in a sea of people who aren’t like you is a freedom we all deserve.
This is trope, of course. This meaningless celebration of the “unique” is stupid. Where ever you go there are people just like you to a much larger extent than liberals want to believe. There are millions of people around the world who want to do whatever it is YOU want to do. No one is meaningfully unique, at least not unique enough to make a bog deal out of it all.
But all that aside, it really is true that the caption of the Tweet was right in its original intent. You see, it was originally meant as a comment of disgust on “what liberals want.” Despite that the left has taken this caption and photo and turned it to their own ends, the original sense of disgust was right.
After all, it really is what liberals want.
They want men emasculated into pretend women while real women are imprisoned in a niqab and oppressed by Islam.
So, yeah, it does encapsulate quite well what liberals want.
