Liberal Sports Writer Claims Trump Only Meets With Sports Figures Accused of Abusing People

-By Warner Todd Huston

Joining the rest of the left unhinged by the election to the White House of Donald J. Trump, a liberal sports writer has accused the President-Elect of only meeting with sports figures who have been accused of physically abusing people.

After praising Barack Obama for “using sports to connect with the public,” Ryan Glasspiegel of TheBigLead.com attacked Donald Trump for meeting with sports figures who are “deeply polarizing.”

Glasspiegel writes, “many of the sports figures he has met with during the campaign or since becoming President-elect are deeply polarizing. It would be one thing if this was over pure ideological grounds, but there have now been several occasions where he’s met with serial abusers.”

The writer then goes on to note that Bobby Knight, Floyd Mayweather, Don King, Ray Lewis, Jim Brown and others have histories of being accused of physically attacking others.

But apparently Glasspiegel was perfectly OK with President and Mrs. Obama meeting with a long list of people accused of abusing others not to mention meeting with musicians whose music is filled with lyrics celebrating mistreatment of women, shooting of cops, drug abuse, and violence.

For instance, Obama has called a long list of abusive rappers to the White House. Obama has met with such singers as Kendrick Lamar (who rapped the song Bitch Don’t Kill My Vibe), Ludacris (Pimpin All Over The World), and Jay Z (Pussy) despite their sexist, violent, and disgusting lyrics and despite that many of these characters have a varied list of criminal charges and arrests to their name.

Obama even invited raper Rick Ross to the White House who is was arrested on aggravated assault and aggravated battery charges. In fact, while Ross was in the midst of an Obama event at the White House, his court-ordered ankle monitor went off to drive home the point that the President had invited a criminal to the White House to sell a youth program pushing “non violence.”

One also has to wonder if Glasspiegel rushed to note that Jim Brown was once accused of abuse when LeBron James bowed to Brown and celebrated him as a Cleveland legend before Game 3 of the NBA playoffs last year?

Of course, none of the points above would lead to an attack on Donald Trump, so it is a lock that Glasspiegel was silent on them.
