We see so many bad stories in the news, it’s nice to see a good story for a change and today we have one. About four shoppers entered a New Jersey store on a Sunday morning, but finding no counter clerk, added up their own bills and left the money sitting on the counter. Turns out the store was actually closed and the door was supposed to have been locked.
The owner of Buddy’s Small Lots on Route 23 in Wayne, New Jersey was thrilled with the behavior of their customers.
Of course these customers, most of whom were African Americans, could have simply walked out with what they wanted and that would have been that. But they were the honest shoppers, instead, and honestly left money for the items they wanted.
“I think that there are still wonderful people in this world that have a sense of honor and dignity,” the owner of the shop said. “They were coming in there to shop, they did just that, and they felt that it was the right thing to do to leave the money behind. They didn’t take advantage.”
These gentlemen should be applauded. This great story shows that not everyone is as bad as the media makes us think everyone is, these days.
