From the Schilling for Congress campaign (17th District)…
IL unemployment rate has doubled to 10.1%; Hare still thinks we’re “headed in the right direction”
EAST MOLINE, IL–Responding to yet another false statement from Rep. Phil Hare, Bobby Schilling called on Hare to come clean with the voters about the truth of the economy and to quit hiding behind his out-of-control tax and spend policies. Earlier this week, Schilling took Hare to task for his delusional comment made to the Quincy Herald-Whig: “We’ve got job growth, we’re headed in the right direction.”
Rep. Hare continues to display a startling detachment to the problems our country is facing. In just four years, Hare has watched the unemployment rate double and the national debt increase by $5 trillion. Despite four straight months of job loss, Rep. Hare says we’re headed in the right direction. Despite a $13.6 trillion national debt, Rep. Hare insists the debt is a ‘myth’ and that we can continue to spend recklessly.
Bobby Schilling, Republican candidate for Congress in the Illinois 17th District, said it takes a “master of deception” to campaign on a record of failure.
“Rep. Hare is a typical career politician who looks to delay responsibility on important issues until after election season,” Schilling said. “Calling four straight months of job loss and a 10.1 percent unemployment rate heading in the ‘right direction’ is irresponsible. Americans do not buy into Phil Hare’s twisted logic. Illinois families cannot afford another two years of painfully high unemployment and record deficits.”
Bobby Schilling, a native of Rock Island, graduated from Alleman High School and attended Black Hawk College. Schilling, a local business owner, is the Republican candidate for the 17th Congressional District in Illinois. Bobby is running on a platform of bringing jobs and real representation back to the 17th District. Earlier this year, Schilling conducted a 34-city “Bob’s for Jobs” tour, where he met with voters and employers all across the 17th District. Schilling was recently named an official ‘Young Gun’ by the National Republican Congressional Committee in their Young Guns program of top tiered races.
