Ill. Policy Institute: ‘I need money to move’

From the Illinois Policy Institute…

Hooray for Dysfunctional Health Care!

Meet Donald Berwick, President Obama’s nominee to run the nation’s Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Donald, it turns out, is a huge fan of the legendarily dysfunctional government-run British health care system. You can click the video above to find out why—and what he ultimately wants to bring to American shores.

In Case You Missed It
“I need money to move.” Years ago, our CEO John Tillman heard those words many times—and they taught him about the importance of school choice. You can read his piece on a potentially life-changing education reform in today’s Chicago Tribune. The Institute was also featured in Tuesday’s Wall Street Journal, which offered an update on the Illinois voucher bill. You can get an update.

Just the Facts
For years, there’s been no shortage of hype and hyperbole surrounding climate change (Jerry Agar details some of the latest shenanigans). Want to learn more? The Institute is cosponsoring the Fourth International Conference on Climate Change, hosted by the Heartland Institute here in Chicago on May 16-18. You can get the details or RSVP.

And the Award Goes To…
Our public relations and public affairs consulting firm Mac Strategies Group was honored with Silver Trumpet awards from the Publicity Club of Chicago for media campaigns conducted for two of the Institute’s top public policy initiatives. You can learn more about the award-winning Economic Reform Agenda and IllinoisOpenGov.org campaigns.
