Chgo Trib: Giving Away Obama T-Shirt With Subscription

Remember how the media claims they are fair and balanced? Remember how “journalists” say that all they do is “report the facts” and that their overwhelming lefitism is left at home when they ride their eco-friendly bikes to work? Remember how they claim that they are the “watchdogs” of politicians and don’t involve themselves in politics? Apparently the Chicago Tribune didn’t get that memo because an Obama supporter visited a local Chicago store to snap the picture to prove that Obama shirts are being offered in exchange for a subscription.
So on my way to Saloon Democrats, I stop by the Walgreens on Clark and Lake. And what do I see just inside the entry? A woman with a bunch of baseball hats and tee-shirts trying to sell subscriptions to the Chicago Tribune.
The deal is, if you sign up for the Chicago Tribune at one dollar a week, you can get one of the hats or teeshirts for free. And what’s on the teeshirt? Why “Obama” of course. It wasn’t the official campaign logo but it was his name splashed across the white cotton fabric. The only reason I noticed is because the woman called out to everyone entering the store saying they could get a free “Obama” teeshirt if they signed up for the Tribune.
So much for just being “reporters,” eh? But remember, the media is NOT in the bag for Obama!
But, doesn’t this cozy relationship between the Trib and the Obama campaign seem to put their objectivity in doubt?
Of course, there was a day when the media did overtly chose sides and support particular candidates. I wouldn’t mind if we’d go back to those days. Because what we have now is the claim that the media is dispassionate even as they support Obama with their every move while pretending they aren’t! I’d rather the truth from the media than a lie any day.

Blue Dog’s Obama Dilemma

In 1996 a small handful of Democrats won election to the House of Representatives because they were supposedly “conservative” Democrats. They were termed the so-called “Blue Dog” Democrats. Of course, several stories have proven that none of them have lived up to their conservative claims and all have fallen lockstep into line behind the extreme left agenda headed by SanFran Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House. But, the ascendency of Barack Obama, the most leftist member in the entire Senate presents a new problem for the purportedly “conservative” Democrats of ’96 and that dilemma has been realized by Rep. Dan Boren (D, Okla.) who has announced that he cannot openly endorse the extremist, liberal Barack Obama for president.
The AP reported on Tuesday that Boren said that he needed to “reflect” his district, so he could not endorse the most liberal Senator.
“We’re much more conservative,” Boren said of district. “I’ve got to reflect my district. No one means more to me than the people who elected me. I have to listen them.” He called Obama “the most liberal senator in the U.S. Senate.”
Boren also made note of the outright lie that Obama will reach across the aisle, saying that the Senator from Illinois has never done so in the past casting doubt on his inclination to do so in the future. Boren told reporters, “unfortunately, his record does not reflect working in a bipartisan fashion.”
Unfortunately, Boren still said he would personally vote for Obama in the general. One wonders how that is “reflecting” his “more conservative” district?
Still, this reveals the major problem that Obama should present the claimed conservative, Blue dog Democrats. Obama is the most leftist politician we’ve had running for president since Eugene Debbs, yet these Democrats claim they and their district are “conservative” minded folks. How can these people support a heavily Marxist influenced Senator for the presidency and still “reflect” their conservative district? And if they do campaign for and support their Party nominee, Obama, how can they still claim to be conservative Democrats?
The truth is, they cannot support Obama and still hold true to their principles. And if they vote for the Party nominee anyway and go against their principles, they make the lie to their claims of being conservative Democrats. This leaves them open for GOP challengers who should be able to easily prove that these so-called conservative Democrats are no such thing.
Will the GOP use this easy path to at some point in the future regain seats from so-called Blue Dog Democrats? If they’re smart they will. But, does anyone think the GOP is smart enough?

Obama Sought Endorsement of Marxist Third Party in 1996

Here is some interesting as well as character confirming info about one of Barack Obama’s former runs for office. Apparently, Obama actively sought and received the stamp of approval of a Marxist third party that operated briefly in Chicago between 1992 and 1998. The group was called the “New Party” and was started in 1992 by Daniel Cantor (a former staffer for Jesse Jackson’s 1988 presidential campaign) and Joel Rogers (a sociology and law professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison).

Daily Kos Photochop Depicts Michelle Obama Being Tortured by Klan Members

Yesterday, Barack Obama began crying again. Someone should remind him… there’s no crying in politics. He has whined that we can’t use his middle name, he has whined when we bring up his close relations with aging hippy terrorists, that we ask aloud about his “spiritual mentor, the racist Rev. Jeremiah Wright, and now he is crying that we are highlighting the anti-American statements made by his wife as she campaigns for him all across the country. So, on Monday he whined “lay off my wife,”. Well, fast on the heels of Obama telling us we can’t use the anti-American statements of his wife as a campaign issue we get the kiddies over at the DailyKos doing their best to “help” Barack Obama by making an image of Michelle Obama hanging from a tree with robbed KKK figures torturing her with a branding iron and claiming that this is the “NEW IMPROVED” GOP strategy. So much for the subtleties and civility that Barack claims he wants, eh?
Even more damning, Kos pulled the entire post off the website, photochopped image of Michelle as KKK victim and all. Little Green Footballs has a great screen shot of the original post, but here is the original photochopped image:
This whole thing of Obama constantly whining that everyone is “attacking” him makes him look like such a weakling. What does he think will happen? As the old saying goes, politics ain’t beanbag. This is a tough fight for all the marbles, not a tea party.
