So They Called Him Hitler, So What? Grow Up, The Both of You!

-By Warner Todd Huston

You know, I am about sick to death of this childish back and forth between the unhinged left and the oh-so-outraged right on the name calling issue, especially where it concerns the use of the name of humanity’s most evil villain, Hitler. Yeah, they said (put latest politician here) is Hitler. But so what? Let’s stop the foolish waste of time focusing outrageously, outrageous, outrage over the name calling because not only is it human nature to name call, but it is an age-old American political pastime. A little of it is even cathartic. On the other hand if you happen to be the one using Hitler all the time, stop it, you dipwad. Quit the name calling, you creep. Yes, do read on my morons and let’s hash this out, shall we?

It is a simple, historical fact that Americans have been using the most vile names they could think of with which to label their political opponent. No, we haven’t been calling each other Hitler since the founding and only a gutwrenchingly stupid level of moron would think that. Yet I know that at least a percentage of you reading this were thinking just that, intending to use it to show I am an idiot myself. The fact is that each era has had it’s own version of the worst person in the world award, to be sure, and each era has had no less than one slobberingly absurd Olbermannesque person doing the awarding.

In the early founding those that were targeted for attack were called monarchists. That may seem mild now, but it was a particularly un-American name then since we had just split from a monarchy through a difficult 7-year war. If it were religion that was the target subject, the worst that an American could be called in the early days was a “Papist” as Catholicism was considered an evil not much better than a monarchist. Remember, both monarchy and Catholicism were mass murderers at that time. Later if a southerner was called a Yankee, why them was fightin’ words… literally as it turned out. Then there are the hardy, low and vile racial epithets we are all so familiar with. God forbid anyone was called an Irishman after the 1820s and we all know about our long, sad history with the black man in America.

The point I am making is that this “Hitler” thing is nothing new. You can pick any era in American history, any era, and you’ll find movements using the worst rhetoric with which to depict their opponents in order to put them in the worst light possible. There’s truly nothing new under the sun. Only the names have been changed to diminish the truth!

Vice President Biden Wants to Strangle Opponents

-By Warner Todd Huston

On the tail of the Enviro-Nazis making a film depicting children being murdered because they refused to agree to the globaloney religion — showing the left’s inability to brook opposition without resorting to violence or threats of same — Vice President Joe Biden has announced that he’d like to “strangle” any Republican that opposes his big spending, bailout-a-minute government.

“If I hear one more Republican tell me about balancing the budget, I am going to strangle them,” Biden said at a fundraiser in Minnesota, according to a pool report. “To the press, that’s a figure of speech.”

This violent mindset seems to be endemic in leftism. Take last weekend’s poorly attended left-wing rally, “One Nation,” held in Washington D.C. There a correspondent from the conservative magazine Human Events was assaulted by a distempered leftist.

About that first woman executed in US in 5 years…

-By Warner Todd Huston

OK, the story is all over the Old Media edifice: forty-one-year-old Teresa Lewis has become “the first woman to be executed in the U.S. in five years.”

Every news outlet from TV and cable, to newspapers, to radio, to the Internet is using this line, this “the first woman to be executed in the U.S. in five years” line. They are all playing the same narrative.

So, here’s the question I have. How exactly can anyone be the “first” anything “in five years”? Doesn’t the whole “in five years” presuppose that someone else came first? See, the one “five years” ago was at the very least the real first one, not the one that came today. And in this case, the real “fist” woman executed came over a hundred years ago.

See that woman was Lincoln assassination conspirator Mary Surratt. And that is only the “official” version of events because one could easily count those women hanged for being witches in the famed Salem Witch Trials way back in the 1600s (though this country wasn’t quite “the United States” yet, granted).

Why, then, is this language being used? Why so that this murderer’s execution somehow sounds like a bad thing, that’s why. If we say “the first one in five years,” we make it all seem so outrageous, so shocking. And that heightened emotion is applied to the execution making many people feel that it is somehow untoward.

To Be a Liberal You have to:

… protest the building of a Walmart to employ your neighbors, but be against protesting a Mosque built by your enemies

… be against private property rights, unless Muslims want to use their property to build a Mosque

… be against the execution of convicted murderers, but be for the murder of babies in the womb

… be for confiscatory taxes, well, unless YOU have to pay them, of course

… be for windmill power, well, unless YOU have to have them in YOUR backyard, of course

… be for throwing out politicians, well, unless they are YOUR politicians, of course

… be for free speech, well, unless it is the free speech of conservatives, of course

… be against the war in Iraq and Afghanistan, well, as long as a Republican president is in office, of course

… be for feminism, well, unless, unless it’s a conservative women you’re talking about, of course

… be against rape, well, as long as the rapist isn’t an illegal immigrant or a Muslim, of course

… be against murder, well, unless it’s a Muslim “honor killing,” then you conveniently ignore it exists

… hate religion, well, unless it is the religion of global warming, of course

There are plenty more, of course.

A Woman-Beating Creep? OR a Perfect Democrat? You Decide

-By Warner Todd Huston

Well, this guy is a major creep no matter. But his actions make me wonder if he is just a no good girlfriend beater, or the perfectly obvious outcome of left-wing philosophy and therefore quite logical.

A Seattle area man named Graydon Smith was rather fond of beating up his pregnant 19-year-old girlfriend. The 31-year-old was, though, vaguely conscious that hitting her in the stomach might hurt the baby. Still, he did not see why a silly thing like pregnancy should stop him from doing what he enjoyed. So Smith had himself an epiphany.

Smith had his 19-year-old girlfriend sign an “abuse contract” that gave him permission to beat her up as long as he didn’t hit her in the stomach.

See? Problem solved. Everyone should be happy.
