Shots Fired at Donald Trump Campaign Sign Outside North Carolina Man’s Home

-By Warner Todd Huston

A man in Cary, North Carolina, was shocked, frightened, and angered when someone opened fire on the Donald Trump campaign sign which was affixed to the front porch of his home last weekend. It’s just another example of the extreme violence perpetrated by liberals during this election cycle.

The fact is, nearly every single incident of violence and property destruction committed during this 2016 election has been perpetrated by the left. This is just another example.

Cary resident James Powers reported the incident to police on November 6 when upwards to 20 shots were fired through the sign late on the evening of November 5. Many of the projectiles went through the sign and struck Powers’ home.

The resident noted that no one was home at the time of the shooting and no one was injured.

“I don’t try to speculate on the what-ifs. The good thing is, every bit of this can be replaced. He’s safe, I’m safe, but it’s disappointing,” Powers told WRAL.

Cary police reported that the weapon used was likely a high-powered pellet gun. The vandals damaged a window, some siding and a glass door with a combined value of up to $1,500.

Mr. Powers went on to attack those who shot at his home saying, “As an American citizen, my right to choose is my right to choose. I’ve never picked up somebody else’s sign, hurt somebody else’s sign. I don’t understand why at this election, it has to be so much violence when we’re the deplorable.”

The resident noted that he has had four other Trump signs defaced, stolen, or destroyed.

“This is actually the fourth police report about destruction to Trump signs,” Powers concluded. “This is where we live. This is where we come for sanctuary. It should be a safe place.”

Cary police report other residents have had their campaign signs attacked, as well. Only last week a Trump sign was lit on fire in front of one home.

Violence against Trump supporters and vandalism of homes and offices of Republicans have been common this campaign season. There have been reports of a long list of attacks on individuals, including a shocking video showing two young, white Trump fans being attacked and beaten by a large group of Hispanics in California.

Meanwhile, Trump’s campaign office in Denver, Colorado, was defaced twice in the same day, two offices in North Carolina were attacked, one in Allamance County and the other in Hillsborough. The latter was firebombed and destroyed.
