Because he raised the minimum wage for fast food employees to $15 an hour.
Huh? How does that make him a racist?!
Because businesses hire the most experienced and reliable workers seeking employment. For burger flipping jobs, the free market set the rate at about 8 bucks an hour. That means that people with no skills, and are willing to flip burgers at 8 bucks an hour, will find an employer willing and able to pay that rate. It’s the free market at work.
OK, so how does that make Cuomo a racist?
Because when the government forces Burger King to pay workers $15, there are thousands of skilled workers—who are earning less than $15—who will quit their jobs and apply for work at Burger King.
What’s wrong with that? They’ll be making more money.
For THOSE workers, there’s nothing wrong with that. Indeed, Burger King would rather hire people with experience and good work histories, showing good work habits and reliability and proven learning capabilities, rather than some black kid from the hood who has no work background.
Ahh, I see. So because of liberals like Cuomo, poor black kids end up never gaining employment, because they never have the chance to grab the lowest rung of the ladder that could give them the opportunity to prove themselves.
Exactly, because Cuomo removed it.
OK, but even though Cuomo is clueless about economics, Cuomo’s intention was to help these poor black kids. He says he cares about black folk. How can you call him racist?
Because the Democrats won that SCOTUS decision last month, in which disparate impact is now the standard for racism.
Disparate impact? What’s that?
That means that if there are too few blacks in certain jobs, or too few blacks in certain neighborhoods (etc.), then it’s the result of racism and the federal government can move in to change that status through force of law.
But what if there are few blacks in a particular vocation simply because blacks don’t like that job category? Like law enforcement. Or perhaps blacks prefer to reside among other blacks rather than in predominantly white neighborhoods? How can those conditions be considered the result of racism?
Because for liberals, intent is incidental. If you’re walking down the street and accidentally step on a black man’s foot, that is a racist act. SCOTUS affirmed it, so now it’s the law.
I can’t believe this!!
You better. My friend Sharon was teaching a class in NYC schools this year and accidentally BRUSHED past a student’s foot by accident. His foot was sticking out on the isle and she didn’t see it. She immediately apologized for the accident. But it didn’t help. She was suspended and now needs a lawyer to get her job back. The UFT union wont help her. The kid was black.
OK, OK, so because Cuomo removed the lowest rung of the employment ladder for poor black kids, you’re saying he’s a racist?
I’m not saying it. Liberals are saying it. The Supreme Court is saying it. I’m just unbiasedly reporting the facts.
Well, it does seem logical. I guess Cuomo is indeed racist. I just don’t understand why he hates poor black kids.
There are just some things we’ll never understand.
