The Mayor of Bloomington, Illinois seems to have lost his mind after a local Tea Party blogger mentioned his son in one of her posts. The Mayor launched into an unnecessary, hyperbolic attack on the blogger calling her “total garbage,” and a “sick dirty slimy ignorant fool.” His spittle-specked attack was replete with a lack of proper punctuation, misspellings, and often in all caps. It was like he reverted to a 12-year-old mentality with his over the top reply.
Mayor Tari Renner (yes, “Tari” is a man’s name in this case) went ballistic when blogger Diane Benjamin noted that the mayor’s son is a “friend” on social media of a student who appeared at a recent city council meeting.
The blogger didn’t “attack” Mayor Renner’s son, she merely mentioned him as a social media friend to a student who was involving herself in local politics.
But that mere mention brought this childishly formulated attack from the mayor:
NO! Diane! It shows what an ABSOLUTE AND TOTAL PIECE OF GARBAGE you are -actually worse because garbage can be converted into something useful – you are a TOTAL ABSOLUTE HUMAN CANCER! PLEASE quote me on that! I haven’ checked this site in ages because it’s mostly crazy bullshit -to be charitable! But, WHEN YOU ATTACK MY SON YOU ARE GOING TO PAY THE PRICE YOU SICK DIRTY SLIMY IGNORANT FOOL! And, frankly, that’s raising you to a level you ABSOLUTELY don’t deserve!
Nothing you ever report on this site makes any sense because I will give people anything they want to know about their government. Diane you REALLY are the craziest human being I”ve ever known. This WILL be my last post on this sick site of the worst part of humanity! The fact that some of you still think you’re Christians is PATHETIC! There is a special place in hell for you!
Krikies, Mayor Renner. What are you, like a 12-year-old child?
Ian Bayne of radio station Cities 92.9 in Bloomington reports that even members of the City Council–who are used to Renner screaming and attacking people–felt this reply was absurd and childish.
Apparently Mayor Renner has a long, long history of this sort of verbal attack on people who dares cross his royal highness.
In any case, someone needs to up Mayor Renner’s distemper shots, apparently. Seems like a childish and petty man that Bloomington elected to office, doesn’t it?
**UPDATE**
On February 20 the Bloomington City Council voted 9-0 to censure Mayor Renner for his outrageous behavior (source).
