In another example of why government unions should all be eliminated, two union operatives in the Illinois school system have been the happy recipients of million-dollar pensions–courtesy of the taxpayers–for teaching classes for only a single day.
Back in 2011 I wrote of union operatives Steven Preckwinkle and David Piccioli at the Illinois teachers union who both “taught” only one day in the Illinois school system and then went on to be union operatives for the rest of their careers that were supposedly in “education.” Yet despite their lack of actually educating anyone, both were still demanding to get huge, generous pensions for being “teachers.”
These two union thugs were demanding their pensions because they convinced some pliant, left-wing, corrupt Democrats to pass a special law that would give them the right to the million-dollar, taxpayer funded pensions in exchange for teaching that single day.
But once the corrupt, back room deal was made public some moved to try and deny these no-show workers their extremely expensive and undeserved taxpayer paid pensions. Well now the decision has come in and they are going to get their undeserved pensions anyway.
Adam of Andrzejewski recently discovered that contrary to what some lawmakers claimed, Preckwinkle and Piccioli are still getting their pensions.
“A couple of weeks ago, we spotted Preckwinkle and Piccioli within a long list of 30 state retirees from the Illinois Federation of Teachers (private sector teachers union),” Andrzejewski wrote. ” Sure enough, in 2014, Piccioli is receiving $30,564 and Preckwinkle $37,416 pensions (click here for their life expectancy pension payouts of nearly $1 million each). The experience was a bit overwhelming, even for our seasoned team of forensic investigators.”
This is the sort of corruption that government unions foster on a daily basis in every state misfortunate enough to have government unions. And it isn’t just teachers. Every government union is a corruption of the public good because government unions are antithetical to democratic government.
