President Obama’s new healthcare website is so bad that even the famed consumer advocate magazine Consumer Reports is warning thatAmericans should steer clear of the Obamacare websites until (and/or IF) the website ever gets fixed.
The absurd thing, here, it that Obama has been working on this system and this website interface for three years and the launch has been a disaster. Nothing works–not on the user end or the insurance company end–and the lack of security for everyone’s personal info is extremely bad.
Millions of Americans have tried and failed to get through to the Obamacare website and even those who thought they had signed up will find that in fact they didn’t as the insurance companies that these individuals thought they were contracting with have found that the information coming from the exchange system Obama set up is garbled, incomplete and otherwise useless to them.
With all this in the offing, the consumer magazine is telling its readers to steer clear of Obamacare’s Healthcare.gov until these major, crushing failures are fixed. The magazine did, however, try to offer some tips on how people might try and navigate the Obamacare website.
Consumer Reports pointed out that only a low only 271,000 of the 9.47 million people that tried to sign up were successful in creating an account, but even that didn’t denote a successful application for insurance.
But starting on October 1, the magazine has published a series of report slamming Obamacare as a massive screw up.
On the first day Healthcare.gov opened, CR told its readers, “Don’t worry if you can’t sign up today or even within the next couple of weeks.” A week later they reiterated that warning telling readers to wait a few weeks further before bothering with it all. Saying that Obama’s website was “barely operational” CR told readers to wait a few more weeks in hopes that Obama’s team of Internet failures could “iron out its problems.”
This week CR said it again. If al the tips seem too convoluted, CR sadly told its readers, “follow our previous advice: Stay away from Healthcare.gov.”
The upshot is thatConsumer Reports is saying the whole system is a crushing failure and America should ignore the thing.
And this isn’t even to mention that fact that once you put in your information into Healthcare.gov is not safe from cyber criminals.
In fact, Obamacare warns its users right in the user agreement warnings that any info put into the system is not safe.
Right on the terms and conditions page it says, “You have no reasonable expectation of privacy regarding any communication or data transiting or stored on this information system,” reads the disclaimer, which does not appear on the site’s visible.”
So, you aren’t safe putting your personal info into Obamacare.
Best for all Americans to take the advice of Consumer Reports, stay away from Healthcare.gov.
