For a little palette cleanser for today comes this amusing little clip from ABC. It’s a promo for the upcoming remake of Alice in Wonderland played during this week’s episode of Once Upon a Time that accidentally gave a character of the show a “magic crotch.”
There are so many double entendres here that it is hard to name them all. Rabbits, sex, magic, fantasy… soooo many.
Of course, this was all just a horrible accident. These little bottom-screen advertisements for other shows are very common and just show up in a specified spot on the screen.
Only, it just so happened that this promo popped up in just the right place. The promo hit as the Snow White character (actress Ginnifer Goodwin) in ABC’s fantasy series Once Upon a Time was standing on the screen in juuuust the right place for the bunny to hop out and make a magical blue circle around her crotch.
Ooopsie.
“I never thought I would have so many emails about Ginny’s vagina,” showrunners Edward Kitsis told Entertainment Weekly. “It’s embarrassing, but at the same time, it’s so silly it’s hard to take serious. It’s so obvious that somebody didn’t realize what they were doing.”
It is tempting to try and make something of this for all too many, but the truth is these little animations are just scheduled to appear at a given time and in the same corner of the screen regardless of what else is on the screen as the promo plays.
It really was just a big accident. A confluence of events. Happenstance.
But it’s amusing, nonetheless.
