Obama EPA Official Stole $886K of Tax $$ From Agency

-By Warner Todd Huston

As Obama and the Democrats act wide-eyed over claims that there is billions in waste and fraud in the federal budget we have yet another story of it, this time with an employee of the Environmental Protection Agency stealing $886,000 in tax dollars from the EPA.

The alleged theft occurred in the EPA’s Office of Air and Radiation between the year 2000 and 2013. Accused is EPA employee John Beale.

Beale obtained the money by fraudulently claiming benefits, salary, and bonuses as well as compensation for special projects for which he “had not earned by providing employment services to the EPA.”

Republican Senator David Vitter (LA) is incensed by this.

“There appears to be corruption to the umpteenth degree. I think it’s appalling that Administrator McCarthy and former acting Administrator Bob Perciasepe could claim that sequester is depriving the agency of important resources when in fact their own employees are stealing from the government.”

“It’s clear that further investigations are necessary, and at the appropriate time we’ll need answers – a whole lot of answers.”

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen fraud, abuse and waste in the EPA recently.

Perhaps you’ll recall back in June where EPA employees were stealing government property to furnish their own “man cave” in an EPA warehouse?
