According to the Kübler-Ross model, there are five distinct stages to the grieving process. Given President Obama’s economic policies, it is likely you have experienced the majority of them in the last two years.
This contribution to the understanding of the human psyche has inspired my own.
I present the five stages to the process of Chicago Democrat governance, applicable at both the state and federal levels.
Stage One: Imposing the Hurt. At this stage Chicago Democrats’ cancerous public policies metastasize and debilitate both the culpable and the innocent alike. Think of the Community Reinvestment Act and its contribution to the housing market meltdown.
Stage Two: Ignoring Objections. Here Chicago Democrats respond to the crisis they created by doubling down on the policies that brought about the crisis while ignoring public sentiment. I cite here the commitment of $10 trillion we don’t have to bail out enterprises the marketplace suggested we didn’t need.
Stage Three: Ridiculing Opponents. This is the stage with the longest cycle. It was foreshadowed in the 2008 campaign when candidate Obama lamented the lack of sophistication plaguing small town America where knuckle-dragging, mouth-breathers cling to their guns and antediluvian notions about a Supreme Being. These are who Chicago Democrats define to be the “tea people”. The small minority of Americans who oppose Obamacare (60%) because they’re too busy eating dirt, marrying their cousins, and waiting in line for the latest Jackass movie to comprehend the brilliance required to put the government in charge of everything.
Stage Four: Blaming Supporters. “It took time to free the slaves.” That is what the President said to supporters during a recent speech. In other words, “Back off, genius at work”. The impatience of Obama supporters is dwarfed by Obama’s impatience with them.
Stage Five: Getting Thrown Out of Office. Self-explanatory.
