Roskam Responds to Obama’s New Stimulus Plan‏

From the office of Congressman Peter Roskam…

Recently President Obama presented his latest plan to “stimulate” our economy. Although he’s not calling it a stimulus package, the American people are seeing it for what it is – $50 billion of additional government spending. Unfortunately for the President, we’ve already seen the failure of one stimulus, and this new plan is no different.

More government spending is not the answer to our country’s financial struggles. Take a minute to watch my interview on PBS News Hour to see my response to the President’s plan and a discussion of how House Republicans are prepared to lead if we reclaim the majority in November.

Getting government spending under control and promoting a regulatory environment that supports business growth are essential to creating jobs and getting Americans back to work. In these tough economic times, we need a new strategy for decreasing unemployment – not more of the same government spending rhetoric we are hearing from Washington.
