8th District: Dirk Beveridge Cautions Republicans

From the Dirk Beveridge for Congress campaign…

Conservative Congressional Candidate Warns Against Complacency

Last night at a voter rally for Beveridge for Congress, Dirk Beveridge, Republican candidate for the 8th Congressional Seat, surprised some voters with his comments about Republican Scott Brown’s epic Senate victory in Massachusetts.

“We can’t get complacent and simply ride the wave of one election,” announced Dirk Beveridge, a business owner and community leader running on a common sense conservative Republican platform. “We have much to celebrate and we are encouraged. This victory is epic and we need to be sure to listen to the voters. Clearly, the people want a stop to liberal spending and socialized medicine. At the same time, voters are tired of career politicians who recline in their seat, vote the party line or ignore the will of the people. The 2010 election cycle brings opportunity for our conservative base to shake up sleeping legislators and voters; an opportunity to earn the trust of independent voters if we get real, and get to work.”

Beveridge is no stranger to challenging tough issues head on. He is best known in the Chicago area, and in Washington for his activism, and leadership of a grassroots movement on behalf of veterans, soldiers and their families for his “support the troops” organization We Do Care and The Annual Freedom Festival. The organization was launched in 2004 following local anti-war protests which wrongly leveraged fallen soldiers.

Dirk Beveridge tells voters he will use his proven leadership, private sector solutions and moral compass to unite conservative leaders and fight hard in Washington against big government spending and the complacency of career politicians: “I will fight to restore the American spirit and our national security while putting an end to uncontrolled spending, expensive earmarks and get our country back on the right track. This is less about Republican versus Democrat, and much more about challenging everyone in Washington. Scott Brown energized voters from both sides and got them to the polls in record numbers to take ownership of the ‘people’s seat.’ In the 8th District we have a Democrat incumbent who is inaccessible to voters and put her Democrat party’s needs ahead of her district’s conservative values. Our voters are ready to vote for the right change; I know they are ready for a leader who will get to work on their behalf.”

Dirk Beveridge is a common sense conservative from Barrington, Illinois. He is not a career politician and vows to bring efficiency to Washington with private sector solutions. He is endorsed by The Chicago Tribune (“the best is Barrington Business owner Beveridge.”) and the District’s largest weekly newspaper chain, The Pioneer Press Newspapers who believes “… Beveridge to be the best at representing the views of all members of the party…Beveridge will do the best job of attracting voters that Republicans need to win in November.” Beveridge also earned a “preferred candidate” endorsement from Schaumburg Township Republican Organization and is endorsed by the Cuba Township Republican Committee.

Beveridge ‘s business expertise has led to endorsements from a long list of “job creators” and industry leaders. Dirk Beveridge (48), of Barrington, is the owner of a small business who helps large national organizations grow and expand.
