This is a pretty stunning admission, but now even the left-wing Associated Press is admitting that if Obamacare gets passed there will be a major doctor shortage that won’t soon be resolved because of the crush of new patients.
The AP posted a piece Sunday that warns that Obamacare will make worse the national shortage of primary care physicians using experience of RomneyCare in Massachusetts as a cautionary example.
As Massachusetts’ experience shows, extending health care to 50 million uninsured Americans will only further stress the system and could force many of those newly insured back into costly emergency rooms for routine care if they can’t find a primary care doctor, health care observers said.
Naturally the AP gives Obama cover by reporting the many times he’s said how much he cares about primary care physicians. But the fact is that there will be a massive shortage of these doctors once Obamacare is passed.
Unfortunately, the AP piece did not spend adequate time informing readers of the major consequence of this shortage, but at least it was mentioned. The truth is that Obamacare will instantly start an increase in wait times as more and more patients clog the system.
In but one paragraph the AP informs its readers that wait times to see physicians will climb from days to months once government healthcare is instituted. But the truth is even worse. In some cases wait times will be many months, or even years, once government healthcare becomes reality just as it has in Canada, Great Britain and other nations with nationalized healthcare systems.
The AP also claims that family doctors “need a raise.” But the newswire service is remiss in asking the vital question: wasn’t Obamacare supposed to make healthcare cheaper? And if it is “cheaper” how can we start giving doctors “raises”?
Even with the admissions, the AP does not fully reveal all the troubles that Obamacare will cause. But at least we got these few admissions out of one of Obama’s news agencies.
