The Democrat Party is angling to destroy the economic and societal balance of the United States by creating a permanent lower class that it can exploit for votes … and the Republicans are helping them.
Now, before you go off castigating me for going off into tin-foil hat territory, I am not saying that this is their stated goal. I do not believe that the Democrats think they are creating a permanent lower, slave class. But, they are looking to create a permanent class of voters who will keep them in power because those voters would ostensibly be forever dependent upon Democrats’ control of government handouts. And that, when all is said and done, is just the same as intending to keep lower class, uneducated (currently) illegal aliens in thrall and enslaved to Democrat Party operatives and in a permanent status as lower class citizens unable to rise from their downtrodden position on the lowest rungs of the ladder of success.
An unregulated flow of immigrants across our southern border has opened the door to the least educated members of the nations south to come here and exploit the opportunities open to them in the USA. They come here to better their lives, and who could blame them? The hellholes they are coming from would cause any sane man to risk all to leave there and come to the USA. Americans who get upset over this law breaking, wondering what kind of scum-bag would purposefully break the law like that, are righteously angry, but that anger is based on a serious misunderstanding of the world these people are leaving.
We in the US are raised to respect the law… or at least realize we must live by it. And, despite our constant griping about how “unfair” our laws are, they are still orderly and well patrolled by authorities as well fair enough not to cause a total breakdown of society.
On the other hand, the “law” where these immigrants come from is neither fair nor orderly. It is even a bit absurd to call the conditions under which the lower classes south of us live as any kind of “law” at all. Consequently, these people grow up having no respect for the rule of law because their “rule of law” has no respect built in for the common man. So, to come here by breaking a law is a meaningless distinction to them all the way around. Where they come from laws aren’t made to benefit them so why have respect for law anywhere else if that is all you know?
So, it is ridiculous to blame the immigrant. On the other hand, it is perfectly reasonable to blame the US government for allowing them to break our laws. It is as much the fault of the Federal government that these uneducated illegal aliens come here as it is the governments of the nations back home that cause them to need to leave them in the first place.
And now, here they are with no way to rise into the middle classes, as past immigrant classes have been able to do. They will be stuck forever in the lower class making them an easy target for exploitation and the perfect voting base for a Party that relies on the under educated and overly needy to stay in power.
In any case, the Democrats are extremely close to their goal if the demographics reported by the census bureau are any indication. As the New York Times reports, “More than 20 percent of children in the United States either are foreign-born or have a parent who was born abroad. Nearly half the children under age 5 are Hispanic, black or Asian.”
The so-called minorities are becoming majorities. As the Times reports, in several states the minorities already are majorities. “Hawaii (75 percent), New Mexico (57 percent), California (57 percent) and Texas (52 percent).”
This does not portend well for our republic. Not because minorities are some how inherently evil but because they do not grow up with the same respect for law that our native born, middle class population is raised with. They are brought up to expect handouts from government and are encouraged to that understanding by a cloying Democrat Party. This different view of what the people should expect from our government will cause it to be destroyed with the very ballot box initiatives that have, until now, made our nation great. Those raised on the notion that government’s role is parental in nature will continue to vote in the types of candidates who will give them exactly what they want. And, as such voters come to majority status, this cannot be avoided.
A famous saying, variously attributed to people as far-flung as Ben Franklin to Sir Alexander Tytler, explains well the destructive concept at work here. As the saying goes, “A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largess from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, followed always by a dictatorship. The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations has been 200 years.”
Regardless of who said it, the axiom seems to be proving out a perfect harbinger of our doom.
Now, here is where the Republicans are helping the Democrats in their exercise of societal demolition.
Bush is so eager to have a feather, ANY feather, to put in his cap before he leaves office with his approval ratings at such a low ebb that his administration is mistakenly seeking to gut even the poor “safeguards” currently sought in immigration proposals. Laws to target businesses that hire illegal aliens are quietly being dropped by the Administration as a sop to Democrats to get a guest worker bill through Congress.
As the Washington Times reports, “The Bush administration, trying to win an immigration agreement with Democrats, is backing away from safeguards designed to target businesses that hire illegal aliens and to prevent a repeat of the rampant fraud that resulted from the 1986 amnesty.”
Also, current Federal law prevents the Social Security Administration and the IRS from sharing info and this allows illegals to more easily evade authorities as well as gives businesses that hire illegals more avenues to hide their activities. Homeland Security head Chertoff has been trying to get the Administration to break down this barrier to little effect. U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Director Emilio Gonzalez, who is equally being ignored by the White House, has echoed this call.
But, according to Senator John Cornyn (R, Texas), the White House and GOP Congressional teams in negotiations with the Democrats on these issues do not seem to be taking this sensible advice. Such changes are not being considered.
Says Cornyn, “I don’t think the director’s concerns have been communicated to the people that are at the table — Secretary Chertoff, Secretary Gutierrez and we could use their help.”
In fact, not only are they not listening, they are purposefully working against such safeguards even going to the extent of trying to push through an agreement when Cornyn had stepped out of the room.
As the Washington Times reports:
“When Cornyn stepped out of the meeting, the above three tried to get everyone to sign off on Title II without any of these provisions,” the aide said.
Sen. Jon Kyl of Arizona, one of the lead Republican negotiators, objected on Mr. Cornyn’s behalf, leaving the issue still undecided.
Republicans say the administration is caving because it doesn’t want to lose Mr. Kennedy’s support for a deal.
The thing that immigrant advocates what the most is an automatic family exemption for any illegal that gets amnesty. Meaning that any illegal immigrant that is lucky enough to get amnesty and residence through whatever means would immediately be allowed to bring his whole family here.
And all the while the administration is backing off other aspects of the immigration bills such as the ever-shrinking fence and border security measures.
What we will end up with is a wide open border with no controls on immigration at all followed by even more invaders who are nothing but unskilled, uneducated drags on our system. Then, once here, an amnesty will give them access to our already strained social services that will end up in utter ruins.
Build the fence and stop all crossings first. Then worry about those already here. Any measure taken before the border is sealed is a complete waste of time.
Even without the fence, however, fostering a climate of intolerance for law breaking illegals will slow the flow of these people as is evidenced by a recent story in the L.A. Times where one person interviewed maintained that many would be immigrants were afraid to even try to come here due to the recent upswing in deportations.
“A lot of people are just staying home because they are afraid of being caught,” said Bezard, research director at Aite Group, a Boston-based financial services consulting business. “The political climate has a lot to do with it.”
So, imagine what we could do with even a lightly effective fence and a determination to keep people out?
But, there’s the rub. They don’t want to stop any from coming here. They want that border open and unguarded and that flow to ramp up to a torrent. And their only consideration is enlarging their voter base. The most cynical reason I can think of.
Unfortunately, this greed for more voters will lay our nation in ruins. We used to be able to count on the GOP to oppose this sort of idiocy. No more.
Count on this issue disappointing enough Conservatives that their turnout in 2008 is anemic enough to allow whatever Democrat candidate captures their Party’s nomination to waltz into the presidency without breaking a sweat. Because without the Conservative base in line, a Republican candidate cannot win the White House.
